A bomb scare at the Rose Garden coliseum in Portland:
"A Christian women's gathering was canceled tonight at the Rose Garden arena in Portland as police investigated a suspicious device found in one of the bathrooms.
As of 8:30 p.m., the building had been evacuated and the surrounding area was oddly quiet and serene. Members of the Portland Police Bureau's bomb squad could be seen gathered around a vehicle, as security guards kept passersby from getting too close to the arena from any direction.
Officers first responded to the stadium in North Portland about 6 p.m., said Sgt. Mike Marshman, a police spokesman. Marshman said officers called in the bomb squad, which arrived on the scene about an hour later."
It was obviously a dud, but who wanted to scare the crap out of the women at the event?
