"Police arrested 22-year-old Abdul Walid Hamid of Hayward on the evening of Wednesday, Nov. 4, after he reportedly tore a crucifix from a person's neck and scared others at Stoneridge Shopping Center.

Hamid, an employee at a mall kiosk near Starbucks, has been charged with battery, terrorist threats and grand theft.

According to reports, Hamid was yelling "Allah is power" and "Islam is great" while holding a pen in a fist over his head. Witnesses said he shouted anti-Christian comments, said police."

Portland Christian Women's Event Evacuated

A bomb scare at the Rose Garden coliseum in Portland:

"A Christian women's gathering was canceled tonight at the Rose Garden arena in Portland as police investigated a suspicious device found in one of the bathrooms.

As of 8:30 p.m., the building had been evacuated and the surrounding area was oddly quiet and serene. Members of the Portland Police Bureau's bomb squad could be seen gathered around a vehicle, as security guards kept passersby from getting too close to the arena from any direction.

Officers first responded to the stadium in North Portland about 6 p.m., said Sgt. Mike Marshman, a police spokesman. Marshman said officers called in the bomb squad, which arrived on the scene about an hour later."

Makeshift Bombs All Over Minnesota Town

Maybe as many as 7 altogether in Princeton,MN:

"PRINCETON, Minn. — An eastern Minnesota school superintendent says a suspicious package found outside his town's high school on Wednesday contained an incendiary device.

Princeton schools Superintendent Rick Lahn (LAYN) says he learned that in a meeting with Police Chief Brian Payne. Lahn says the chief couldn't give him details but told him it was "very suspicious and it contained some explosive material."

Lahn says he doesn't think it was a large device but doesn't know what kind of damage it could have done.

The package discovered by a custodian outside the high school was one of three found in Princeton on Wednesday morning.

A clerk found a similar package in front of the post office and another in front of Princeton High School forcing the evacuation of more than 3,000 students in the school district. There were three small packages.....Sources tell KARE 11 that in addition to the initial three, four more devices may have been located in Princeton. They were described as homemade devices, possibly even working devices."

Kids attempting to get classes cancelled wouldn't have also placed a device at the post office.

It sounds like someone wanted to completely shut down the town and then study the response......a dry run perhaps.
